About Us

Whilst classed as a charter town and being home to The Manor Arms, Broughton-in-Furness is smaller than most villages. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in the diversity of the creative minds that visit and live there, alongside the beautiful and breath taking sites that can be found here.
The Manor Arms has been owned and run by David, Christine and Scott Varty since 1988. In 2009 David and Christine retired, leaving the pub to their son Scott. The Manor Arms is incredibly proud of the reputation that they have earned, and strive to maintain their high standards in both the en-suite rooms that they provide to their customers & the products that they sell from the bar. With up to an astounding eight real ales, and the three still ciders that are available at any given time, The Manor Arms aims to provide a diverse range of choice for any customer who walks through their doors.
The real appeal of The Manor Arms is how it allows everyone and anyone a step backwards towards a more leisurely time. The Manor Arms provides a friendly and warm atmosphere for all to revel in and enjoy. With such a diverse set of creative minds, it is easy to get lost in the pleasant atmosphere and great conversation.
The Manor Arms is also the proud winner of the CAMRA Furness pub of the year, awarded to them in 2015, 2018 and 2019. The Manor Arms has also won the CAMRA Cumbria pub of the year award in 2013 and was featured in the final 16 pubs of the National Pub of the Year 2006!
